Osteopathy Care

What Treatment Involves

During the initial consultation a full case history is taken, which is followed by an examination. This allows a diagnosis and explanation to be given.

Each treatment is tailored to the individual to enable the fastest route to recovery and reduce pain. Instead of drugs, osteopaths use their hands both to discover the underlying causes of pain and to carry out treatments using a variety of manipulative techniques. These include soft tissue massage, mobilisation, stretching, spinal manipulation, along with postural advice and exercises.

Less invasive techniques are also used especially when treating children, the elderly or acute patients.
